Applewood Centers is a private, nonprofit agency providing mental health services, social services and education to children, adolescents and families living in Cuyahoga and Lorain counties. Dedicated to addressing a variety of behavioral, emotional and learning problems, we provide a continuum of care from outpatient counseling to residential treatment.
Program Summary: Our In-Home Services Program provides services to clients, their families, and significant others in their natural environments to maximize healing and goal attainment. Our Intensive Home-Based Treatment model utilizes practices, including but not limited to, Community Psychiatric Supportive Treatment (CPST) to youth with emotional and behavioral disturbances and Multi-Systemic Therapy to children and youth who are at risk of becoming involved with the juvenile justice system.
Intern Position Summary: Under the administrative/clinical supervision of the In Home Supervisor/Field Instructor, the In-Home Services Intern provides compassionate and comprehensive mental health services to clients, their families, and significant others using the Community Psychiatric Supportive Treatment (CPST) model and the Multi-Systemic Therapy model.
Intern Experience Details: As the In-Home Services Intern, you will engage in the following activities, including, but not limited to:
Co-facilitating individual and family counseling
Co-facilitating family education and individual skill trainings
Participate in weekly team meetings and department trainings
Other services necessary to the enrichment of the intern environment
Location: Services will take place on-site in the client’s homes. Travel is required for this role.
Hours: Field hours are flexible. Occasional evening work should be expected.
Qualifications: A trainee license or LSW is required. The intern is required to be a second year Masters level student or higher. As such, a Bachelor's degree is required.
